Red vs. Blue

Finally. I can watch my "scheduled junk programs" without having to listen to unethical political bashing, to "who dunnit's" and to "did you know that 15 years ago's.....! It's over. As expected the Democrats have taken over. For the State of Oregon it was expected and certainly shouldn't have been a surprise, as the last time there was a Republican Governor I was younger then 10. Poor Ron, I'm sure he didn't really think he stood a chance. I myself ride that thin line between both parties. Agreeing with both on different issues. If you are anything like me, deciding what to vote for and who to vote for becomes almost like a research project. And, now at least for another year I can relax. My phone won't be ringing off the hook with phone calls screaming, "Just making sure you are voting this year!" or "Just calling to thank you for your support!". How do they know they were getting my support??? I hadn't even voted yet. GEEZ! This year my husband and I cancelled each other out on a lot of issues. We argued a little, discussed in detail why we thought what we did on certain issues. And then we voted. Eric drove the ballots to a drop box last night and then we sat down for "Dancing with Stars" and "House" only to find them both constantly interrupted with the results of the election.
Next up? The presidential race. Give me a year off and I'll be ready, ready for a year of commercials and flyers and yes, unwanted phone calls. This political stuff can get rather addicting. And this next election will probably prove to be very, very interesting.
