Lately.....
So, I haven't posted in a while, well, ok, a week. Life is moving a long. We had parent/teacher conferences last night and all is well with Emi at school. She's excelling and doing very well. She's in the advanced reading program....no surprise there as the kid loves books more then anything. She is behaving and we have no problems there. This was sort of a surprise as her behavior at home is sometimes a little less then desirable. But, Emi says, "Well at school, I have to follow the rules....". HELLO???? Her teacher says, "She know's she has unconditional love at home, at school, she has to work for that...". Makes sense I guess, but Motor Mouth (as she is referred to at home), needs to start working on that perfect behavior here I figure.
Elise is Elise. She's a brute and has an insane personality. She is going to be a handful, I can tell you that. She is, at almost 18 months old extremely independent and stubborn. But, she is so much fun. She makes everything we do a little more interesting. She makes meal times a laugh fest and "nightly down time" not so down. She's crazy, but hilarious. She's finally starting to talk instead of grunting and/or screaming all the time. And, she loves to do whatever Emi is doing. She plays dress up and make-believe and loves to "color" with Emi. And, she doesn't let anyone push her or her sister around. Playground time is interesting as she doesn't put up with anything from anybody. Quite a difference from her big sister who still at 5 years old would rather leave the playground when she's being "bullied" then ask that child to stop. Elise fights for what she thinks is hers or her place in line for the slide. She lets nobody stand in her way.
The "daycare" is going well. Some days are of course worse then others, but for the most part, we are doing ok. They feed off of each other, those 3 little ladies, so if one is cranky and moody, the other's are too. Although I love those two little girls, watching other children day in and day out is a tough job. I got myself a double stroller, with that and the back pack I am able to go out with all three babies. It's not easy, but it gets us out of the house.
I'm not sure I told you this, but a few weekends ago, Brother Tim just POPPED in from New York for a surprise weekend visit. 10:00pm and someone is banging on the front door. Scared the crap out of me, but when Eric opened up the door and standing in front of me was Tim, escorted by Brother Chris I was shocked. I screamed, laughed, cried and about passed out. It was a fun weekend, but super busy. Tim will back for Christmas, with Nathan, so it won't be too long between visits this time. Chris though will be working on the Hillary Clinton campaign in Vegas so he won't be here for Christmas. It'll be the first Christmas that all 4 of us kids won't be here. Sad, sad. But, it's good experience for Chris so he's gotta do what he's gotta do.
In the last couple weekends we've visited the Children's Museum and the zoo. Check out my flickr site for some pretty cute pictures (Gunnarson Photos link on the left side of the this page). I'll post again soon!!
