WE HAVE A BOY!!!

I finally have a boy in my family!! Here is the stats:

Sims Leland Cronen
August 1, 2007
8lbs 10oz; 22" long (and a HUGE head)

Keli started having contractions early evening on July 31st. By 3am on August 1st they were pretty bad, by 5am it was time to head to the hospital. She was a week overdue and wasn't dilating as fast as she should be. They hooked her up to some "P" to get it going and she quickly dilated to a 5. Unfortunatley, that's where it stopped. She remained at a 5 for several hours before the doctor determined that the baby's head was too big to fit and she was going to have to deliver C-section. We were all a little bummed at first, but that was soon forgotten when Kiley brought out little Sims for us all to meet. He is of course perfect and I can't wait to get to the hospital today to spend a little Q time with him. There were so many of us at the hospital last night, that after just making sure my sister was ok, I headed home.

I myself had been at the hospital since 6am for Emi's tonsilectomy and adenoidectomy. She was scheduled for surgery at 7:30, but check in time was 6. Because Emi & Keli were at the same hospital I was able to run across to the Birthplace to check on Keli as soon as Emi was wheeled away. I ran back to meet up with the doctor after surgery, then went back to check on Keli while Emi was in recovery. Emi bounced back from surgery so fast that I was able to leave her with Eric and head back to the hospital to await Sims arrival. It's so amazing to me how fast kids recover. Her surgery was at 7:30 and we were headed home by 10:30. Just crazy! She never even slept again once they got home.
